I was ambivalent about taking two classes with Dr. Chatterjee this semester, both on the same day. Starting and ending my day with him seemed like a job for a significant other, not for a student. And yet, once this class began, I discovered my respect and affection for him only increase. The man is perhaps most in his element in this class; it allows him to do what he’s best at forging relationships with individuals and driving engaging discussions with a group of students. I mentioned earlier that I derived a lot of benefit from this class as a graduating senior. That comes from the feeling of uncertainty that arises through such a pivotal and changing time in a senior’s life. The amount of wisdom I was able to gather through this class (from the speakers and Dr. Chatterjee himself) is what made this class so interesting. I never thought that this was the one I’d most look forward to in my day given how unbearably long it seemed to be slotted for.
