Dave Chatterjee, Ph.D., is an AI and Cybersecurity Governance Subject Matter Expert whose current focus is cybersecurity readiness and enterprise digitization. He is the creator of the Commitment–Preparedness–Discipline (CPD) Framework, a unifying governance approach spanning cybersecurity, IT, and AI oversight. His expertise draws on more than two decades in information technology management — including data governance, internal controls, information security, and performance measurement.

Dr. Chatterjee is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Duke University, teaching in the cybersecurity program at the Pratt School of Engineering. He previously served as a tenured faculty member in the MIS Department at the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business, where he was recognized for exemplary service. His work centers on the Commitment–Preparedness–Discipline (CPD) Framework, a unifying approach to cybersecurity, IT, and AI governance.

He is the author of Cybersecurity Readiness: A Holistic and High-Performance Approach (a SAGE Publication) and the best-selling cybercrime thriller The DeepFake Conspiracy. His work has been published in outlets including The Wall Street Journal, MIT Sloan Management Review, California Management Review, MIS Quarterly, Journal of Management Information Systems, and Business Horizons, and he has been featured in Forbes, the Chicago Tribune, Business Insider, Yahoo Finance, and USA Today. He served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Organizational Computing and Electronic Commerce (Taylor & Francis) and has reviewed for numerous scholarly and practice-focused journals.

Dr. Chatterjee has led the Society for Information Management (SIM) Atlanta Chapter for nearly a decade, including as Chairman of the Board, and has served as a board member of the Cybersecurity Collaborative, working alongside CIOs and CISOs and participating in CISO SWAT teams addressing critical security challenges. He has also advised technology and security companies including Innovative Technologies AI, Open Street, and Citadel Security Group. He holds industry certifications in cybersecurity, data analytics, ERP systems, and IT controls.

He delivers talks worldwide, moderates CXO panels, and conducts corporate training, workshops, webinars, and advisory engagements. He hosts the Cybersecurity Readiness Podcast Series (video playlist and audio playlist, with listeners in over 100 countries, and is regularly quoted and interviewed by news media on major technology developments.

Dr. Chatterjee has taught with distinction across undergraduate, professional, executive MBA, and Ph.D. programs, including the Terry College’s Professional and Executive MBA programs and UNC Chapel Hill’s Global OneMBA program. His teaching has been recognized with honors including Outstanding Executive MBA Professor of the Year, UGA Outstanding Teaching Faculty Honoree, and two Thank-a-Teacher recognitions from UGA’s Center for Teaching and Learning (2023). He was also recognized by UGA’s Career Center for his contributions to MIS undergraduates and by the university’s Provost for mentoring undergraduates through the Center for Undergraduate Research Opportunities (CURO). He chaired UGA’s Program Assessment and Review Committee, work recognized by the Vice-Provost, and provided leadership across several university governance committees.

In 2016, he launched the Dave Chatterjee Technology Roundtable, drawing distinguished business leaders and award-winning CIOs to discussions on blockchain, AI, data quality, and cybersecurity. He is also active in youth development, leading STEM and professional development workshops for K-12 students and mentoring outstanding high school students through summer research opportunities.

Outside of work, Dr. Chatterjee is an avid racquet sports player — tennis, table tennis, badminton, racquetball, and squash — and has completed two half-marathons, with a full marathon in his sights. On July 5, 2026, he won the Atlanta City Tennis Singles Championship in his division.
